Nanointerventions in Fertilizers

The TERI-Deakin Nano Biotechnology Centre (TDNBC) organized a networking event on Nanointerventions in Fertilizers: Current status and Future Perspectives on Aug 2nd, 2020 at TERI Gram, GwalPahari, Gurugram, Haryana. This event was as a part of its initiative ‘NanoBiotech@DBT’, a platform initiated by theDepartment of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government ofIndia, and being taken forward by TDNBC under the mentorship of DBT. The initiative aimed to bring together academicians, researchers, industries, and other stakeholders on a singleplatform to address important and critical challenges in the area of nanofertilizers.The event was the first in a series of workshops and eventsthat will be held through the platform of NanoBiotech@DBT, with the objective of makingprogress in the major thrust areas for DBT that are Agriculture, Environment andNanotoxicology, Nanomedicines and Therapeutics, Diagnostics and Imaging, DeliveryVehicles, and Systems and Devices. The event had participation from across differentsectors that included government, Industries, Start-ups, Investors, Philathropists and Academicians. The event was inaugurated by ShriPankaj Kumar, Assistant Director, Department of Fertilizers, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Govt of India and chaired by Dr. Alok Adholeya, Director, TDNBC. The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Reena Singh, Associate Director, Centre for Mycorrhizal Research, TDNBC. The key objectives of the event were:

1.    To bring together stakeholders for fruitful discussions on nanotechnology inagriculture, more specifically on Nano fertilizers.
2.    To provide platform to Agri-Startups to showcase innovations
3.    To build new strategies for partnership in Agri innovations
4.    To connect Industries, Startups, Investors and Researchers of agri-nanotechnology
